Our Ministries

Our ministries are an important and integral part of our church community. Whether you are a student, single or married there is a ministry designed for you. Please read about our ministries and consider becoming an active member of our community of faith.
Deacons' Ministry

The Deacons’ Ministry exists to support the Pastor in the overall ministry of the church. Every member is appointed a Deacon who will assist her or him in matters of faith, as well as ministry needs.

Deaconess’ Ministry

The Deaconess’ Ministry exists to support the Pastor and Deacons in the overall ministry of the church. Deaconesses are normally wives of deacons and share responsibility in the sacraments of the church.

Women’s Ministry

The purpose of the Women's Ministry is for: 1) Teaching; 2) Spiritually developing ourselves and others; 3) Fellowship and support of one another; 4 Disciplining and witnessing; and 5) Service to others through outreach and providing resources. The Women’s Ministry seeks to address the complex needs of women of all ages.

MAIN IDEA: Women whose lives have been healed through the ministry of Jesus should be found helping Jesus with ministry. Women help Jesus through creative, life-changing ministry in Jesus' church.

WHY IMPORTANT: Too often women diminish the power of their own healing by becoming self-absorbed and isolated.

WOMEN HELP the ministry of Jesus by: 1) Being honest about their own healing or need for healing; 2) Being helpful to Jesus by facilitating healing experiences for other women, families and community; and 3) Being generous to Jesus by supporting other ministry efforts.

Laymen’s Ministry

The Laymen’s Ministry exists for the purpose of facilitating the spiritual development of men, and providing opportunity for creative witness. The Laymen Ministry seeks to address the complex needs of men of all ages.

Youth Ministry

– The Youth Ministry exists for the purpose of facilitating the spiritual development of young people. The Youth Ministry seeks to address the complex needs of young people and provide creative outlets for youthful energy.

Ministry of Christian Education

The Ministry of Christian Education exists for the purpose of providing a comprehensive curriculum that assists in the process of shaping Christian discipleship. The Ministry of Christian Education seeks to assist existing ministries with the equipping of members for ministry.

Sunday School

The ministry of the Sunday School exists for the purpose of providing systematic study of the Bible, and other relevant issues. Currently, the Sunday School have added a component called “Profiles in Blackness,” which uses African American history to challenge and esteem students.

Music Ministry

The Music Ministry exists for the purpose of providing music for all worship experiences. The Music Ministry seeks to shape a comprehensive music program that teaches, prepares, and performs music that honors God. There currently three components to the Music Ministry: BMBC Church Choir, Men’s Chorus, Youth Choir.

Usher’s Ministry

The Usher’s Ministry exists for the purpose of assisting in the directing of congregants within worship experience. The Usher’s Ministry seeks to provide assistance to the Pastor, or Worship Leader in orchestrating orderly worship.

Nurses’ Ministry

The Nurses’ Ministry exists for the purpose of providing basic assistance to distress, or needy worshipers, First Aid, and assistance to the Pastor. The Nurses Ministry seeks to facilitate, train, and provide service as needed.
